Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Meeting with United Arab Emirates Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today with United Arab Emirates Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Ambassador and the Foreign Minister discussed Afghanistan, Yemen, and other priority issues before the United Nations Security Council. They stressed the need to work collectively to defend the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan. The Ambassador also congratulated the United Arab Emirates on the second anniversary of the Abraham Accords and expressed support for the United Arab Emirates’ efforts to further develop its relationship with Israel.
