Ambassador Nikki Haley will travel to Switzerland and Israel, June 5-10.
On June 6 in Geneva, Ambassador Haley will be the first U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations to address the UN Human Rights Council. Ambassador Haley will then deliver a speech at the Graduate Institute Geneva laying out the United States’ position on future involvement with the Human Rights Council. Her remarks will address the benefits and the failings of the Council with respect to the vital mission of defending millions of people against the world’s worst cases of human rights abuse. The remarks will be webcast live. In Geneva, Ambassador Haley will also participate in an event highlighting the present day human rights crisis in Venezuela.
From June 7-9, Ambassador Haley will travel to Israel, where she will hold meetings with Israeli and Palestinian leaders and observe United Nations operations in the region.
