The United States is pleased to again co-sponsor this important resolution promoting the safety of journalists. Their work supports the free flow of information and ideas so vital for resilient societies. No journalist should face harassment, intimidation, or violence for doing their job. We share the commitment to promote accountability for crimes against journalists and media workers.
With respect to OP3, we note that the right to freedom of expression includes the freedom to seek, receive and impart information, but that there is no right to information or access to information.
