The United States refers you to our general statement delivered on November 3 and posted in full on the Mission’s website regarding our support for freedom of expression.

We stand strong in our position that combating hate and intolerance on the basis of religion or belief can be done without limiting freedom of expression, and freedom of religion or belief and freedom of expression are interconnected and mutually reinforcing. As noted in the resolution, we welcome reaffirmed commitment to Human Rights Council Resolution 16/18, its action plan, and implementation through the Istanbul Process.
