The United States strongly believes that culture is an essential component of human development that can enable and enhance sustainable development. We thank Bangladesh for their initiative in tabling this text on an important topic that is of key interest to all UN delegations. We note that as of December 31, 2018 the United States withdrew from UNESCO and is currently not a party to it. Thank you.
