Media Advisory: Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield to Brief Media on the U.S. Presidency of the UN Security Council during the Month of August
Security Council presidency to focus on combatting food insecurity and defending human rights
Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, will brief members of the media at the UN on Tuesday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m. EDT on the United States Presidency of the United Nations Security Council during the month of August.
Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will preview the United States’ planned Program of Work and highlight areas of focus for the month: Ending famine, combating food insecurity in conflict, and defending human rights.
The Ambassador will also discuss the United States’ signature event, a High-Level Open Debate on Famine and Conflict-Induced Global Food Insecurity, to be chaired by Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken on Thursday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
