Media Advisory: Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield Travels to Ecuador

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will travel to Ecuador May 23-25 to lead the U.S. Presidential Delegation for the inauguration of Ecuador’s President-elect Guillermo Lasso Mendoza and Vice-President-elect Alfredo Borrero Vega. In Quito, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will meet with senior Ecuadorian officials, regional heads of state, and other dignitaries attending the inauguration on May 24. The Ambassador will also meet with international organizations and local NGOs who are providing critical assistance and services to migrants and refugees who have fled their homes and have sought shelter in Ecuador. Finally, the Ambassador will meet with staff of the U.S. Mission to Ecuador in a Town Hall that will include a discussion of the importance of diversity and inclusion, and how these values support U.S. foreign policy.
