Media Note: Ambassador Chris Lu to Travel to Los Angeles, California to Deliver Santa Monica College Commencement Address
Ambassador Chris Lu, U.S. Representative for UN Management and Reform, will travel to Los Angeles, California, June 12-13.
On Tuesday, June 13, Ambassador Lu will deliver the commencement address at the Santa Monica College Commencement Ceremony – the school’s first in-person graduation to be held since 2019. Ambassador Lu is the proud son of two community college graduates. The ceremony will start at 5 p.m. PDT and be webcast live and available on the Santa Monica College website here.
From 10:30 a.m. to noon PDT, Ambassador Lu will participate in a roundtable with Asian American advocacy and business groups hosted by the Deputy Mayor’s office of the City of Los Angeles. He will be engaging directly with the local community, listening to their concerns, and discussing the Biden administration’s policies to empower the Asian American community, including its efforts to combat anti-Asian hate incidents.
