Media Note: Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield to travel to New Orleans
Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, will travel to New Orleans June 28-29. On June 29, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will partner with former President of Liberia Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for a conversation on empowering women leaders at the 2023 Essence Festival of Culture’s Global Black Economic Forum. This event will be livestreamed at 10:15 a.m. CT.
On June 29, the Ambassador and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Regan will meet with the Sankofa Community Development organization and the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice to learn about their efforts, highlight issues of global climate change and engage with high school students focused on protecting the environment.
