Media Note: Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations to Travel to Rhode Island to Deliver the Commencement Address at the U.S. Naval War College
On Friday, June 16, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations will travel to Newport and Providence, Rhode Island.
In Newport, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will deliver the commencement address at the U.S. Naval War College (NWC). The Ambassador will meet with NWC leadership and congratulate NWC’s 2023 graduating class as they take the next step toward contributing to the U.S. and international defense community. As a leading educational institution, NWC “informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders.”
In Providence, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield will visit Beautiful Day, a local gourmet food company with a mission that supports resettled refugees in Rhode Island by offering training programs and supporting their transition to the job market. The Ambassador will discuss the Biden-Harris Administration’s “Welcome Corps” initiative aimed at welcoming refugees seeking freedom and safety and, in turn, make a difference in their own communities.
