Readout of a Meeting Between Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield and Chile’s Foreign Minister Andres Allamand

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield met today with Chile’s Foreign Minister Andres Allamand. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield thanked FM Allamand for Chile’s leadership in the fight against climate change, and expressed the United States’ hope to work with Chile on renewable energy. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield conveyed the United States’ appreciation to FM Allamand for Chile’s regional leadership in promoting human rights and defending democracy, discussed opportunities for improving international coordination on free and fair elections, and commended FM Allamand on Chile’s recent elections for constitutional convention delegates and regional officials.
