Readout of Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Engagement with Family Members of Hostages Captive in Gaza

The below is attributable to U.S. Mission to the United Nations Spokesperson Nate Evans:

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met with family members of hostages still captive in Gaza. While 110 hostages were released – including four Americans – thanks to a deal the United States, Qatar, and Egypt brokered; sadly over 130 hostages are still being held by Hamas, representing more than 30 countries, among them seven U.S. citizens and one U.S. legal permanent resident. The Ambassador reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to securing the release all hostages out – immediately and unconditionally, and also acknowledged the work families have done to advocate for their loved ones’ release.
