Readout of Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Meeting with Central Africa Republic Foreign Minister Sylvie Baïpo-Temon

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today in New York with Central Africa Republic Foreign Minister Sylvie Baïpo-Temon. The Ambassador expressed her appreciation for the steps CAR has taken to improve its relationship with the UN’s Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA), including increased freedom of movement for the mission.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield expressed her concern with CAR’s increasing collaboration with the Wagner Group due to numerous reports of Wagner committing human rights abuses.
