The below is attributable to U.S. Mission to the United Nations Spokesperson Nate Evans:

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today in New York with Colombian President Gustavo Petro on the margins of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues. They discussed the disproportionate impact the climate crisis has on Indigenous communities and people of African descent. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield committed to continue partnering with Colombia to consolidate a lasting peace that centers justice and equality for Afro-Colombian and Indigenous people. Both agreed to collaborate on shared priorities and deepen the strong U.S.-Colombia partnership.
