Readout of Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Meeting with Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos of the Republic of Cyprus

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today with Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos of the Republic of Cyprus. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield reiterated the U.S. commitment to deepening the bilateral relationship with the Republic of Cyprus. She also underscored the urgency of a comprehensive and durable settlement in Cyprus and expressed continued U.S. support for a Cypriot-led, UN-facilitated effort to reunify the island as a bizonal, bicommunal federation with political equality to benefit all Cypriots.

Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and Foreign Minister Kombos discussed continued solidarity with Ukraine, and the Ambassador thanked the Republic of Cyprus for its commitment to holding the Kremlin accountable for its aggression against another UN Member State.
