Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield thanked Foreign Minister Safadi for His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Jordanian Government’s generous humanitarian contributions providing critical aid to the Palestinian people.

The Ambassador and Foreign Minister discussed Jordan’s role as a key U.S. partner and regional leader in laying the foundations for a process leading towards an enduring two-state solution through the establishment of a Palestinian state. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield stressed the Biden administration’s commitment to work together and with other regional partners to set the conditions for a durable and sustainable peace in the Middle East.
