Readout of Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Meeting with Namibian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah

Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met today in New York with Nambian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield expressed appreciation for the strengthening U.S.-Namibia relationship, including growing economic and energy cooperation. Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and Deputy Prime Minister Nandi-Ndaitwah reiterated their mutual commitment to advancing the Women, Peace, and Security agenda and the importance of meaningful participation of women at all levels of political and security decision-making processes. They also discussed the deteriorating humanitarian and security situation in eastern DRC, as well as the upcoming Sustainable Development Goals Summit.
