Readout of Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Meeting with Pacific Islands Forum Secretary General Henry Puna in Rarotonga, Cook Islands

Today, Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, met with Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Secretary General Henry Puna in Rarotonga, Cook Islands.
Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield shared the United States’ appreciation for the PIF Secretariat’s forward-looking and action-oriented approach to global and regional issues, including climate change, sea-level rise, and maritime security. The Ambassador reiterated the United States’ commitment to continue working with the Secretariat to further strengthen U.S.-PIF cooperation on shared priorities.
