AS DELIVERED
While we strongly support sustainable development and environmental protection and recognize that the concept of Harmony with Nature is important to several Member States, we also note that this resolution changes little from year-to-year and its function is to set a theme for an interactive dialogue, which should not require an annual resolution.
Furthermore, we are concerned with the ever-increasing workload of this committee, which has considered resolutions this session. By streamlining our efforts and considering resolutions like Harmony with Nature on a triennial basis, we will improve our ability to consider the topic more thoughtfully.
We also refer you to our remarks delivered on November 21 regarding our positions with respect to the 2030 Agenda, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the right to development, women and girls, inclusive economic growth, and Leave No Country Behind.
