The United States, Ecuador, France, Guyana, Japan, Malta, the Republic of Korea, and the United Kingdom Call for an Emergency UN Security Council Meeting on Red Sea Maritime Issues

The numerous unjustified attacks originating from Houthi-controlled territories in Yemen are a grave threat to international commerce and maritime security. The United States and other United Nations Security Council members including Ecuador, France, Guyana, Japan, Malta, the Republic of Korea, and the United Kingdom have requested an emergency meeting, to take place January 3, to address Red Sea Maritime Issues. The meeting will be broadcast live via UN WebTV: https://media.un.org/en/webtv.
