U.S. Mission to UN Illuminated in Orange in Support for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and 16 Days of Activism

From November 21 through 23, the United States Mission to the United Nations will be illuminated in orange in support for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.

“The United States stands in solidarity with the brave women and girls who are fighting to live a life free from the threat of violence,” said Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations. “We must work together to prevent and respond to gender-based violence in all its forms – at home and around the world. This is both a moral and national security imperative.”

The annual campaign for 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence runs from November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, until December 10, Human Rights Day.
