“The Future We Want” Youth Art Contest

 

Who: Youth (13-15 years old) across the United States who are U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents. For further details, see the eligibility section of the “The Future We Want” Youth Art Contest Official Rules.
What: A countrywide youth art contest in celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the United Nations
When: Launching on December 9, 2019, and application submission open through January 26, 2020.
Where: Winning submissions will be displayed in the United States Mission to the United Nations (USUN) lobby for one month.
Why: The theme for UN@75 is “The Future We Want, the United Nations We Need: Reaffirming our Collective Commitment to Multilateralism.” What better group to launch our celebration and consideration of “The Future We Want” than our youth!

How: Guidelines state that all artwork submitted needs to be created on a standard 22” x 28” poster board and weigh no more than 2 lbs. Please keep in mind when creating that finalists will need to mail their pieces to USUN for judging. Contestants will photograph their work (maximum size:10MB, minimum resolution: 300dpi) and email these photos to UN75@state.gov. (*smartphone photos will be sufficient).

The selected group of nine finalists (including three winners) will be chosen by USUN staff, and the selected artwork will be displayed in the USUN Mission lobby in New York City. Out of the finalists, there will be three winners who will be personally recognized by the U.S. Ambassador to the UN. Finalists will be contacted and instructed to submit their original pieces to the USUN keeping in mind that pieces should be easily transportable.
