We thank Peru for its resolution on Promoting Social Integration through Social Inclusion. The United States joins consensus on the resolution.
With regard to this resolution’s references to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the economic and financial crisis, and the New Urban Agenda, we addressed our concerns in our statement delivered on November 7th. That statement pertains to all third committee resolutions.
The United States is firmly committed to providing equal access to education, promoting student achievement, and the importance of lifelong learning. We understand that when the resolution calls on States to promote various aspects of education, which may include curriculum, programs, or other aspects of education, this is done in terms as appropriate and consistent with our respective federal, state, and local authorities.
